The Services

Our Learning Disability services are long established in Alyth and surrounding areas. There are three teams that work to support the services: two of these teams are based at our supported accommodation services at Airlie View and Burnside Court with the third being an Outreach team who work with individuals who live in their own homes within the local community.

Our teams are fully trained and have a wealth of experience supporting individuals to achieve positive outcomes. We meet a wide range of needs including supporting individuals with complex health needs.

 

The Role

In your role as a Support worker you will:

  • Support individuals with everyday living skills including assistance with shopping, budgeting, cooking and household tasks
  • Support with medication and personal care (including intimate personal care)
  • Take a person centred approach to help individuals achieve positive outcomes in life
  • Work as part of a friendly, supportive and professional staff team to provide the highest quality of care
  • Benefit from a supportive management team who will ensure you have the skills and knowledge to perform your role effectively
  • Receive further learning and development opportunities including specialised training in response to the needs of the service

 

You Will

  • Be a good communicator, both written and verbal
  • Be organised with good time keeping skills
  • Able to demonstrate transferable skills relating to care
  • Have the ability to work as part of a team
  • Be flexible in respect of shift patterns as these will include; early mornings, evenings and weekends
  • Be required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up the post
