The Service

Angus Homecare Services provides care and support to individuals living in their own homes, most of whom are elderly, within Arbroath, Carnoustie and surrounding areas.

We provide personal care and housing support, including attending appointments and therapeutic visits and provide support to individuals who may have learning difficulties, physical disabilities and, or mental health issues.

 

The Role

In your role as a Support Worker, you will provide care and support to individuals in their own homes including:

  • Assisting with household tasks including shopping, cooking and meal preparation
  • Assisting and supporting with personal care (including intimate personal care)
  • Moving and handling (including use of hoists and equipment)
  • Medication prompting

 

You Will

  • Have good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Have the ability and initiative to work on a lone working basis as well as part of a team
  • Have good time keeping, time management and organisational skills
  • Hold an SVQ2 in Health and Social Care, or have the ability and willingness to undertake this qualification
  • Be flexible in respect of shift patterns as these will include; early mornings, evenings and weekends
  • Be required to obtain registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up the post
  • Have a full driving licence and use of your own vehicle
